# Set up tricky home network gear over SSH

One user had Codex CLI configure a managed switch, an OpenWRT router, and a Mikrotik access point over SSH. They admit it was bad at it at first.

**Caution.** It made mistakes early. Back up configs.

## Steps

1. Explain your setup and what you're after.
2. Let it work over SSH.
3. Keep backups of every config.

## Prompt you can copy

```
Configure my OpenWRT router to [goal]. Back up the config first.
```

## What you get

Niche network setups got done.
